Grandmaster Lynn Summers, Phd.

Lynn Summers - Sensei (Teacher/ Instructor) is a Ninth Degree Black Belt in the Martial Art of Karate and a Second Degree Black Belt in the Martial Art of Jujitsu. He is recognized by Soke Ju Dan Don Madden who is the founder of the Seiei Kan All American Karate Do Union (AKJU).

He is also a recognized member of the Pan American Union of Karate Do Union, the World Union of Karate Do (WUKO), the United States Eastern International Black Belt Association.

Sensei Summers is Senior Pastor of the First Church of God Community Worship Center - State Route 159 - Circleville, Ohio.

 

His achievements in karate include the following: winner of numerous local and inner club tournaments throughout Ohio and West Virginia. Then his training for tournament competitIon became more intense and in:

1990
Finished fifth in the U.S.A. Karate Federation Nationals in Akron. Ohio in Kumite.
1991
Silver medallist in kumite and bronze in weapon katas at New Orleans, Louisiana.
1992

West Virginia State Championship - First in kumite, second in kata.

Ohio State Championship - First in kumite and weapons kata, second in open hand kata

Son of Samurai Championship - First in kumite and weapons kata.

West Virginia State Invitational Championship - First in kumite and second in kata.

1993, '94, '95

West Virginia State Championship - First in kumite.

Ohio State Championship - First in kumite and weapons kata. Second in open hand kata.

1996

Son of Samurai Championship - First in kumite and open hand katas, second in weapon katas.

1997

Ohio Martial Arts Championship - First in kumite and weapons kata.

Seiei Kan Grand Nationals - First in kumite and weapons

Open Karate and Jujitsu Championship - First in kumite and kata.

1998

Ohio State Championship - First in kumite and weapons kata. Second in open hand kata.

AKJ U Nationals and Irish Cup Championship - First in kumite and weapons kata. Second in open hand kata.

1999

Seiei Kan Grand Nationals - First in kumite and katas.

Irish Cup Championship in Dublin. Ireland - First in kumite and kata, fourth in weapons kata.

Assigned as one of the trainers for the Irish Cup Championship.

Inducted into the Eastern International U.S.A. Black Belt Hall of Fame - received Golden Life Achievement award. Also received Certificate of Proficiency from E.I.U.S.A. Black Belt Hall of Fame.

AKJU Nationals - Gold medals in kumite, open hand kata, and weapons kata.

2000

Seiei Kan Grand Nationals - Gold medals in kumite, open hand kata and weapons kata.

AKJU Nationals - Gold medal in kumite and weapons kata, second in open hand kata.

U.S.A. Qualifier for AKJU Irish Cup - Gold medal in kumite and open hand kata. (Submitted first place medal to a friend so he could qualify)

Inducted into the Eastern International U.S.A. Black Belt Hall of Fame in Pittsburgh, PA for second time.

February 27 - Received Hachi Dan rank (8th Degree) from Sensei Madden.

2001

Inducted into World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in Akron, OH through American Budo Association

Inducted into First International Karate and Kobudo World Martial Arts League Hall of Fame in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Nominated by Dr. Soke Klaus Schumacher, President of World Martial Arts League International Headquarters in Offenbach, Germany. Certificate autographed by Fumio Demura.

Inducted into Eastern International U.S.A. Black Belt Hall of Fame for third consecutive year. Received Humanitarian Beyond Martial Arts award.

Received International Rank Certificate from E.I.U.S.A. Black Belt Hall of Fame and Grandmaster status.

Received honarary book entitled, "Elvis's Karate Legacy" written by and presented by Sensei Wayne Carman of Branson, Missouri, plus a karate patch personally designed by Elvis Presley.

Ohio State Championship - took first in kumite, open hand and weapons katas.
